Numerous natural resources are hidden in the Dolomites and are best discovered while hiking. First and foremost the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and Lake Braies are the most famous highlights of the area, but also different alm and summit hikes are just as worthwhile in summer as in winter.
Full concentration and one step at a time – when climbing, the rugged rock faces of the pale mountains show their wild side. Around 150 years ago, the big starting signal for the summit hunt in the Dolomites began, and numerous climbing routes were developed, which to this day attract alpinists from all over the world and offer a real Eldorado for climbing lovers.
Gentle bike routes await you in the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Dolomites holiday region as well as demanding bike trails and breathtaking mountain and forest routes. Depending on your preference, these can be ridden with mountain bikes or e-bikes. The route is one of the most well-known bicycle tours in Val Pusteria San Candido–Luenza, which is especially recommended for families.
Perfectly maintained pistes and 115 km of skiing fun are waiting for you in the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Dolomites ski area, which connects the villages of Versciaco, Sesto and San Candido with its lifts, ski buses and the Val Pusteria Ski Express. Maybe you didn’t know it yet, but San Candido even has its own chairlift right at the foot of the Rocca dei Baranci. From the ski slope, the enchanting market town can be admired from a bird’s eye perspective.
Around 1,000 perfectly maintained kilometres of cross-country trails make cross-country hearts beat faster, in the Dolomiti NordicSki area. Nine cross-country regions in the heart of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage of the Dolomites have joined together Europe’s largest cross-country carousel and promise cross-country skiing fun at its finest.
Dressed entirely in white, the backdrop of the Dolomites is impressive while on ski and snowshoe tours in winter. The effective natural scenario is best admired high above the tree line when fabulous winter dreams become reality – with the most beautiful tours through the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park.
